November 30, 2006

It's official I am sick but still at work, I figure if I'm miserable I would take down as many as possible.

Mike went to Terrace today, crazy guy there is at least 2 new feet of snow lastnight. I talked with a bunch of co-workers who drive up and they said the road was good. Yesterday Terrace shut down because of all the snow.

Kidlets are good. I'm hoping to be better by the weekend so I can finish decorating.

November 27, 2006

What did I do this weekend? hmmmmmmmmm. Saturday Shawnee and Sierra went under the stairs and started pulling out Christmas decorations. I was guessing this was a hint and set up my Christmas Village and the Nativity Scene. They wanted all the lights put up and the tree. I figured I at least started. I made steak and home fries for supper and that was about it.

Sunday, while Mike was out cross-country skiing we put up the Christmas tree, yes that was an all day event. I have to wrap the lights around every little branch so it takes forever and it takes alot of lights. BUT the tree is up. Nope still didn't do the rest of the house. I doubt outside will get any lights, its freezing here -20 degrees. Too bloomin cold to go outside. I also figure theres a billion days until Christmas so not in a big rush. Next weekend I'll probably put up the rest of the indoor lights OR brave the cold and try to do something outside. Sunday made my stuffed pork chops, wild rice and carrots.

Today is cold as per usual and Mike went out to go cut firewood with our friend Lyle. He's a priest. Not sure if I mentioned him before but if I did, oh well, good refresher and if I didn't now you know.

My boss is going to be back sometime today which is good.

All my kidlets have a bit of a cough. Shawnee seems to be growing like a weed. Looked at her pants today and they were short by a good 1.5 inches. I told her to go get changed.

Thats our life,

November 24, 2006

hmmmmmmm So auntie Catherine has asked what Mike picked up for himself at Canadian Tire. drum roll please . . . . a hand held vacuum. whoooooohoooooo lol It's actually quite the smart looking little vaccuum. Notice I'm spelling vacuum two ways, only becuase I'm too lazy to actually look it up. He also picked himself up a carving set and a hot/cold welder. Both of which were things he has always wanted but never picked up for himself. SOOOOOO a big thank-you to Mom and Dad.

Cheyenne has caught herself up in her homework. WOW that internet sure is awesome it gets kids to do their homework.

Dakota is still doing well with school.

Shawnee seems a tad sick lately, must be catching a cold.

Sierra has the cold too.

Mike is in town today building bikes for our school. I'm the President for our Paren't Advisory and at one of our meetings the PE teacher requested PAC purchase bikes for PE. SOOOOOO being the McBike supporter I am, I convinced everyone to purchase good quality mountain bikes from McBikes. Therefore, Mike is in town today building the bikes. heh heh I'm sure he didn't mind.

I'm not feeling too hot myself BUT have to go to a funeral this weekend, my uncle Arthur Moore passed away.

That's the updates,

Char

November 21, 2006

Good Afternoon one and all, We went to Parent Teacher interviews yesterday. Sierra was our first stop and only thing the teacher had to say was we should encourage Sierra to write stories at home. Went to Shawnee's class next and only thing the teacher had to say was Shawnee is realizing that she is not the Princess (yeeeees we all sucked in our breath in shock and yelled WHAT?!!!)he said that in his class there was no favoritism. I need to point out that when we walked into the class there was already a parent there waiting for the teacher to talk with them, Mike and I walk in and went to Shawnee's desk and the teacher came right over . . .SOOOOOOO riiiiiiiiiiight noooooo favoritism. Ok then we go to Cheyenne and Dakota's teachers. Dakota received 3 A's and 2 B's. So Dakota's teachers had nothing but positive things to say about Dakota. Cheyenne for some reason has double blocks and is only taking Band which she received a B in 84% and the teacher said he wished he could have given her an A but she didn't hand in one assignment . . Cheyenne said she did and he believed she may have so her grade may change. Social Studies she received an A 98% no problems there, Food A 98% no problem there THEN we go to Chemistry which for some reason didn't have a grade on her report card. She received a D!!!! We talked with the teacher and she printed out all of Cheyenne's homework. Some of which Cheyenne received A+ on and some F. Some she didn't even hand in. Cheyenne pointed out again she did hand in some of the assignments, the teacher checked and sure enough found them marked THEREFORE that brought her D up to a C. I asked the teacher if she could still get some of the assignments in by the end of the week and she said YES and Cheyenne could even re-do the assignments she received a bad grade on AND correct her tests for 1/2 marks. I said awesome and if Cheyenne does all that it will bring her grade up to a B. I told Cheyenne she wouldn't be going on-line until she turned in on the homework, Cheyenne then foolishly asked if she could still go on tonight? LOL uuuuuuuuh noooooooooooo. Why not? Is your homework all handed in? no . . Then there's your answer. We put up with a moody teenager all night after that I bet she is still moody. When the teacher heard us punishing her (huge punishment no internet) the teacher said you know Cheyenne is smart as a whip, she's well behaved and I interupted and said AND GROUNDED. She should have the chemistry homework in by today.

Mike is good he went to Terrace today to pick something up from Canadian Tire (parent's gave him a Gift Certificate for there) That Mike, was going to pick up Christmas Decorations . . .hmmmmm who would that be for? considering Mike hates decorating . . I told him I'd kick his ass if he did. Let's cross our fingers he bought something for himself.

I'm still at work. Still don't have a supervisor for this week either. AND yes things are going as well as to be expected with no supervisor AKA everything needs answers RIGHT AWAY. oh well I survived last weeks explosion I'll make it passed this week too.

November 16, 2006

Today is Mikey's Birthday yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!! Happy Birthday Mike. That is all the news in our family. Well I'm sure there is more but nothing more important than that.

Just an update on the plumbing situation . . .someone in this village got the big bright idea to . . .hook up the fire hose to the hydrant and flush the sewage pipes out to unplug it. YUP you guessed it along with any nine year-old, it flushed it out BUT it flushed it back right into the building. FUN!! They were phoning me wanting me to get someone to clean all the sewage water off the ceiling, walls etc. I phoned my boss and suggested we take the stance of . . hmmmmmm Charlene was getting another plumber, Charlene never asked anyone to flush out the pipes SO!! whoever allowed the twit to flush out the pipes is also the person going to find someone to clean the mess. My boss liked the suggestion. I have no idea what it looks like down there, nor what it smells like BUT I do know I suggested noone work in that building that day. Anyway,

Again HAPPY BIRTHDAY MIKE!!

November 14, 2006

Today is good. My boss is away, the head of maintenance is away BUT guess who is in the office . . . ME!! whooooohooooo. So I arrive at work late, and the lights aren't on and noone knows how to turn them on. The Corporation has been phoning they have a flood in their building. I just wanted to take my jacket off OR keep it on and go back home. I get the lights turned on whoooohooooooo . .who needs them boys anyway? Phone a plumber and my hubby. He gets our shop vac ready, picks me up and we go down to see this "flood". Sure enough it is flooding. The plumber can't fix it because he doesn't have the right tools. The place gets shop vac'd so no water on the floor. Hubby and I go buy some liquid plumber, throw that down the toilets and now it's a wait and see game. If this doesn't work I'm going to have to phone a REAL plumber. It's snowing like hell outside and now people are worrying about snow removal. I'm not removing it that's all I know. Mole hills people . . .these are all mole hills. I definitely don't envy my boss or head of maintenance.

The toothfairy did come!! so Sierra is happy.

It is Parent/Teacher interviews tonight for the Secondary students. I have to make spaghetti because the Anglican Youth Group is providing dinner . . wait . . Dakota is going to be making spaghetti for catering. I'm more than sure my chilluns have done well in school.

Next week is the elementary teacher interviews.

Mikey's Birthday is on Thursday!!! He bought himself a birthday present. I would like to get him a laptop so he can watch movies on it while he guards. We'll see . . that is what I would like or a portable dvd player. Anyway Life is great up here

November 9, 2006

Yesterday Sierra lost a tooth. She doesn't believe in the toothfairy BUT today when she woke up she said the toothfairy didn't come!! I have no idea what to do, I told her to say outloud I do believe in fairies and then maybe the tooth fairy will show up tonight. Now if only that darn toothfairy wouldn't fall asleep so early at night.

Dunno if I won the lottery . . . probably not . .and as you can tell I held my breath actually thinking I won. lol That was sarcasm.

Well gotta get back to work

November 8, 2006

So I'm sitting here at work. I guess you can tell that the last month I actually had to work because there were no blogs. Sooo . . Halloween . . Cheyenne went at Axle Rose from Gun N Roses, Dakota went as some sort of phantom thing, Shawnee went as a Darling Devil and Sierra went as a witch. I of course was the ONLY employee to dress up for Halloween. Apparently not alot of Halloween spirit, but I was a witch. I was also the only one with fake spider webs and halloween decorations in my cubicle but you know THERE IS ALWAYS that ONE weirdo you work with, it just happens to be me. I'm happy with that title, at least i'm not crazy cat lady. I'm just crazy decorating lady, there are worse things to be called. So that's Halloween.

Thanksgiving, I made the turkey and invited our friend Kate over for supper. I'm thinking that by Christmas I can finally make friggin gravy. Crosses fingers.

My bestest friends in the Nass Valley have both moved away. My friend Dee Dee moved to Smithers and Kate and Rick moved to Vanderhoof. I asked God why do all my friends have to move away. Wanna know the answer? . . .I'm thinking it's because I have to become friends with my hubby. Not that we aren't friends but you know . . . best friends? I know this doesn't make sense but I'm thinking it has to do with that.

Next thought to ponder is what am I going to do with all that money?? Oh noone knows it yet but I'm winning the 649 tonight. 36 MILLION!! When that happens I'm sure everyone will have a nice time on a nice friggin beach sippin drinks instead of in the snow. Dunno bout everyone else but it's snowing here . . .yup big surprise. Up north with snow. I of course told my children that they'd still have to go school and I would send them a post card from Hawaii. LOL I know it's comments like those that keep them on their toes.

Well I better get to work again.
